This February, we have a unique opportunity to come together as a team to elevate our training and support our competitors as they prepare for the highest levels of competition.

We are thrilled to announce a special Fundraiser BJJ Seminar featuring the legendary Professor Jair Lourenco, taking place this coming Thursday, February 19th, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

A Seminar with a Purpose

This isn’t just another training session. This is a donation-based seminar designed to help our academy reach a major milestone. All funds raised during this event will go directly toward hosting our Masters Worlds Camp later this year.

Specifically, these donations will help us bring out the world-renowned Head Coach, Professor Bruno Moreno, to lead an intensive training camp right here at Refuge BJJ. Professor Moreno’s expertise is instrumental in preparing our athletes for the Masters Worlds and Jiu-Jitsu Con in August 2026. By participating in this seminar, you aren’t just improving your own game—you are investing in the success of your teammates and the reputation of our academy on the global stage.

Meet Professor Jair Lourenco

Leading the seminar is Professor Jair Lourenco, a black belt whose name is synonymous with high-level Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA. As a leader of the Kimura BJJ team, Professor Jair has coached some of the most elite fighters in the world. His technical knowledge is vast, and his ability to break down complex movements into applicable, high-percentage techniques is second to none.

Whether you are looking to sharpen your guard passing, master new submissions, or understand the strategic nuances of competition-style BJJ, Professor Jair brings a wealth of experience that is rare to find in a single seminar setting. This seminar is open to all Teen and Adult students. We also welcome advanced youth students to participate, provided they have received prior permission from Coach Josh.
