Josh Guerra

Owner & Head Instructor
Black Belt

Josh Guerra has been training in BJJ since 2007 and is a highly accomplished competitor. Josh hopes to share his knowledge and create future world champions.


Ryan Sims

Brown Belt

Ryan Sims loves to share his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu knowledge. Ryan dedicates his time to mentorship programs where he comes alongside young men to provide them leadership and guidance.

Kanani Guerra

Assistant Youth Instructor
Purple Belt

Kanani Guerra has been training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since 2011 and got her start in martial arts by training in Shotokan Karate. Kanani is an active IBJJF competitor with a passion for instructing kids.


Tommy Miller

Assistant Youth Instructor
Blue Belt

Tommy Miller is the first student to journey from white to blue belt within Refuge BJJ. He loves working with the kids team and plans to spend next year focusing on his journey as a competitor by challenging himself in more out-of-state tournaments.


Daniel Johnson

Assistant Youth Instructor
Blue Belt

Daniel Johnson started his Jiu Jitsu journey right here at Refuge. He loves helping coach the kids classes where he has three sons that train. Daniel’s goal is the be the best coach, teammate ,and role model he can be to support Refuge BJJ.

Our Junior Coach Team is comprised of a dedicated group of student athletes with multiple years experience training and competing at the highest levels in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Nathan Crider

Front Office

Nathan supports the front office administration. Being diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, he is determined to spread the message of autism awareness and be a positive role model for others.
